Moze Mossanen is a director, writer and producer who has created a body of popular and critically acclaimed work that have included a unique blend of drama, documentary, music and performance. These films include “Dance for Modern Times”, “Year of the Lion” (winner of three Gemini Awards and the Jury Prize at the Yorkton Film Festival); “Roxana” (winner of two Golden Sheaf awards, the CSC Award for Cinematography and two Gemini Awards); and “Nureyev” (winner of the Golden Sheaf Award and two Gemini awards, including one for Best Direction for Moze). His next films, “Love Lies Bleeding” and “Romeos & Juliets” both aired for CBC in 2018 and were each nominated for four CSA Awards. His 2013 doc, “Unsung”, a documentary about the world of show choirs, won the Canadian Screen Award in 2015. In 2018, CBC aired his feature doc, “My Piece of the City”, in September of that year prior to a theatrical run at the TIFF cinema. His most recent feature doc, “You Are Here”, about the actual people who inspired the current Broadway and worldwide hit musical, “Come From Away”, was released on HBO Canada in September 2018. The film won the Audience Award at CineFest in October 2018; two CSA Awards including Best Documentary in March 2019; the Jury Prize at the Banff World Media Festival in June 2019; and was the top-rated original production on HBO Canada for 2018. The film was also released in over 800 cinemas across the United States on September 11th, 2019.

Kaeja d’Dance would like to acknowledge that we are situated upon traditional territories. Our artists, collaborators, staff and team are grateful to be creating art on this land that has been nurtured by recorded and unrecorded human activity for by thousands of years. We honour and respect the traditional lands and waterways of the Wendat, Anishinabek Nation, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, and the Métis Nation. We are in the 'Dish with One Spoon' territory - a treaty between these nations reflecting a commitment to share the territory and protect the land. We also recognize the enduring presence of diverse Indigenous peoples on this land.
