Pil Hansen, Dramaturge, is a dance/devising dramaturg, a founding member of Vertical City Performance, and an Assistant Professor of Dance and Drama at the University of Calgary. Her artistic and scholarly research examines cognitive dynamics of memory and perception in creative processes. She has been the dramaturge for 26 premieres and remounts, including award-winning and both nationally and internationally touring works. Her latest books are Modes of Agency, Awareness and Engagement (2015) and Performing the Remembered Present: The Cognition of Memory in Dance, Theatre and Music (2017). Current and recent artistic collaborators are: Kaeja d’Dance, Theatre Junction Grand, Toronto Dance Theatre, Ghost River, and Public Recordings.

Kaeja d’Dance would like to acknowledge that we are situated upon traditional territories. Our artists, collaborators, staff and team are grateful to be creating art on this land that has been nurtured by recorded and unrecorded human activity for by thousands of years. We honour and respect the traditional lands and waterways of the Wendat, Anishinabek Nation, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, and the Métis Nation. We are in the 'Dish with One Spoon' territory - a treaty between these nations reflecting a commitment to share the territory and protect the land. We also recognize the enduring presence of diverse Indigenous peoples on this land.
