Porch View Dances: Kitchener

In 2016 and 2017, Kaeja partnered with the Registry Theatre in Kitchener to present Porch View Dances in a new location and activate the Kitchener community.

Both years, porch dances were created by Kitchener-based choreographer Natasha Mansell and assistant choreographer Augustine Wigle and Karen and Allen Kaeja, and vignettes were choreographed by Natasha Mansell and performed by the Contemporary School of Dance company members. In 2015, Natasha and Augustine worked with the White family and the Kaejas worked with the Mielke family. In 2016, the White family returned, this time working with the Kaejas, and Natasha and Augustine worked with the Holt-Schwarz Family. As always, the program concluded with the traditional Flock Landing, an inclusive participatory group dance.
